About the Author. JD Jackson brought this audiobook to life, with his portrayal of Persimon Wilson. The story pulled at my heart strings, and wouldn’t let go. I learned a lot about the Native American way of life during those times and felt that the author interestingly tied the two main characters’ slave experience with the Native American experience.
